1991 La Sfera’s first concert, in Utrecht in ‘Dekenkapel Concerten Pieterskerk Utrecht’. ‘Monteverdi and his time’. Xenia Meijer, Paulina van Laarhoven and Mike Fentross.

1992 First tour abroad - France. Festival d’Ambronay and Institut Neerlandais in Paris. Dutch music from the 17th century.

1993 First CD recording, Orpheus & Amphion, a production for the Patrons of the Organisatie Oude Muziek Utrecht. 17th century Italian/English programme in co-operation with the Locke Consort.

1996 First commercial CD recording: Alla Caccia with vocal and instrumental music by Kapsberger recorded for Carlton Classics.

2000 First opera production (semi-staged) in Hilversum. Il Carro Trionfale by Paolo Quagliati.

2001 First concert conducted by Mike Fentross, Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine. Festival van Vlaanderen and live broadcast on Klara radio(Belgium).

2004 Schönberg/Monteverdi programme conducted by Mike Fentross.

2006 First complete staged opera: l’Ipermestra by Francesco Cavalli. Queen Beatrix attends the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht jubilee production of the
modern-day revival of this long-forgotten work.

2006 Creation of La Sfera Armoniosa Orchestra.

2008 La Sfera presents a second opera discovered by Mike Fentross, in a fully-staged version: La Rosinda, in Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Bayreuther Barock Festival and Vantaa Baroque Festival.

2009 Early Dutch music theatre: Granida by P.C. Hooft. Queen Beatrix attends the modern-day revival in Amsterdam.

2009 (Still to come) Debut La Sfera Armoniosa Orchestra in the large hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater andSalve Regina and Concerto Grosso by Count Unico van Wassenaer.
